Default Shell Valley cars, how much do they weigh?

Hey guys.... I am curious about Shell Valley and have been scoping them out... comparing them to FFR etc... I am trying to compare the cars and their overall weight etc.

On Shell Valley's site... it says their cobra body weighs 200lbs...and their frame/chassi weighs 200lbs... FFR says their cobra body weighs about 110lbs... and the FFR chassi/frame it doesnt say... but it looks to me like the FFR frame would weigh more then Shell Valley... and as the FFR are commonly known as some of the lightest cobra replicas I wanted to ask you Shell Valley owners how much your car wieghs..

i plan to use a small block and a light tranny a G-Force t5 wich only weighs 73-74 lbs.

Thanks guys...sems so far that the Shell Valley boys also make a really nice cobra..

The last car I weighed here was an aluminum head / intake 514ci (460) big block with a C6 automatic transmission. It weighed in at 2480 with a 52% rear weight bias. A small block with a manual trans should weigh a little less, but It's been a while since I've weighed one.

Hope this helps!

Dana

BTW - That 514 was one of the top three fastest cars I've ever driven - including full out race cars! That car was a LOT of fun!!!

The Shell Valley and the FFR are within 150 lbs of each other, similarly equipped.

Your pal,
Meat.

I'm using a Shell Valley body on my new aluminum chassis. My chassis uses aluminum shear panels for the foot boxes and bulkheads, ect. So, the body doesn't have a bonded tub with floors and such. The hood, trunk, and doors are double skinned with steel imbedded in critical areas for hinge mounts. This body weighs 172lbs, I have weighed it. I looked around and found that all of the companies bodies vary in shape some what. I really like the Shell Valley body which in now based on their Mid States molds. I like the shape of it as well, especially the trunk, which doesn't have the "perky" butt look.
Have fun! John

Wow hey thanks for the information guys... what do these kits run anyway? On their site it looks like I have to register my information before I get any kind of info... and truth be told I have no clue when I am going to be able to buy this kit its up in the air.. Did you guys have to do the same survey or call it what you will to get their pricing?
