If you want the best.why not just get an original? Or a CSX continuation car? They're THE BEST...
I want a safe car I can drive, and am looking for the best value I can find.
Cobra snobs really annoy me.

I also have a Shell Valley and I agree with Ratsnst1, to a point. Dollar for dollar, it is hard to beat a Shell Valley if you build it right and FINISH IT right. As they say, the Devil is in the details.
The only thing I would change on my SV is the live rear axle. Granted, with the 9" and Strange big axles, it is stronger there than almost any of the others. But I would still like to have an IRS, knowing that if I did have it, I would constantly be worrying about breakage.
Obviously, if money was no object, I would have a continuation CSX, or at least a Kirkham. There are many things about a Kirkham that I think are better than the Shelby Continuation cars. There is something about the wheel well openings on some of the newer CSX cars that don't look right. The Kirkhams have a much better fit around the tires, and the stance of a Kirkham is all muscle.
I have had no problems at all with the chassis of my SV. I did break a front shock once, but not a problem with SV. I have visited the SV factory in Platte Center NE, and I agree, the people there are great. I was having problems with the girling master cylinders and could not find any help locally, so I called SV and they suggested I bring it to them. I spent about 2 days there and they completely upgraded my master cylinder and brake package with Wilwood components. I believe they now use both brands, at the option of the customer. Their labor rate was something around $40 and they had 2 guys working on the car and they only charged about $700 labor for 2 guys for 2 days. (much less than the original quote)
Great bunch of guys!

I agree with most everyone the Shell Valley is a good Kit for the money , I would order every up grade you can , like the brakes , Shocks , springs , gages ect . I have replaced all of these things for the kit parts where all price premise products. Look close at the radiator for example , if you are going to run an FE get the biggest one you can including the fan . My radiator, fan was way under sized. Check the end flange on the narrowed rear end . Mine was miss aligned and had to be cut off and rewelded. Remember these are not mass produced and should review everything .
