Hi John,
It would seem that the "right" thing to do would be to have a set of headers made that would fit the car properly. The down side it the direct relayionship between the word "custom" and cost. Does Shell Valley have a set on the shelf that would fit? Have you checked into what it would cost to have a set made? If it were me I think that I might end up doing some fiberglass work, it's not as expensive as metal work, and I've got more time than money......
If you do decide to go with new headers I may be interested in the ones you have now, they may fit in my E-M, and it would help to offset your cost..

P.S. Could someone on the the right coast please stop by Mr. Cranky's house and explain to him that FE's are o.k. too, even better than small blocks from an appearance standpoint. I've been looking at my FE for the last four years and I'm sure that I'm getting more pleasure that if I had spent the time with a small block..... Maybe when I finally get the car on the road I'll change my mind.
