Help Identify
I finally tackled a pesky oil leak at my remote oil filter block adapter. Come to find out, the hard brittle material gasket was cracked between the high pressure side and a bolt hole... therein lays the leak.
I cannot identify the adapter by brand, but it does a have a P/N of SP327 cast on the outer surface. It is installed on my 1974 Ford 390FE and is cast aluminum sporting an oil in, and oil out port with integrated oil pressure port.
Fotos attached, 1st is front view, 2nd is back view.
Can anyone help me ID this thing soze I can obtain a new gasket? Else wise.... I guess I'll be having to buy a whole new adapter, cuz my 90psi gasket making skills are nil.

Hello Zderf,
I suspect that you have solved your problem by now, but in case you haven't: It is easy to make a fairly good gasket.
Purchase some flat gasket material
To cut the mounting holes, clamp the adaptor in a vice and place the material over the adaptor. Use the round head of a ball peen hammer and center it over the mounting hole, now tap the ball peen hammer with another hammer and it will cut the hole. Hold th gasket in place with a proper size bolt and then make the rest of the holes, putting a bolt in each succesive hole to hold the gasket in place. Then take the hammer and tap on the edges of the inner surfaces. It will cut the gasket or at least mark it clearly so that you can see where to cut it. You can do the same to the outside perimeter. This all will take about 5 minuets and is quicker than going to the store for a replacement.

If you decide to go ahead and cut your own gasket give me a call and I will set you up with some material and punches. 90psi is really no big deal but the material you get at your local parts emporium just won't do.

Probelm Resolved
I was able to determine the manufacturer of the adapter, TD Performance Products (Transdapt), and chatted with them about gaskets. Oddly, they said they do not have a gasket for that adapter. Ummm
I went to Jim Greens Performance in Lynnwood (the Ford Motor Specialists in Seattle, having a 427 SOC twin turbo sitting in the front room awaiting Mr. Green's next project) and they said I can use the stock Ford gasket after some trimming.
Trimming is a key word, as well as some Dremmel work on the adapter as the oil out port on the block intersects with a land on the adapter. Geeze... and this adapter is made specifically for 352, 390, 406 FE Nice job folks.

It's not over yet. If you haven't put your adaptor back on, could you post a photo of your dremmel work?
I have an adaptor exactly like yours. another gasket option is FEL-PRO #70135. Fits 302,332,352, 390, 406, 428 ....1958 thru 1971
Also, Ford truck 302,330,352,359,360,361,389,391 ....1973-1978. Should replace Ford CDAZ66A 536 B.
I only know this because I just replaced mine also and have a box of gaskets on my bench. Thanks.

Good Point... Its never over!
Per your request (you caught me just in time) I am pleased to attach a foto showing the Dremmel work on the adapter as highlited in red. That is the oil out galley that should mate to the port on the block.
If I had not purchased the stock FoMoCo gasket, I would have never known about the interference of the land on the adapter. Placing the gasket on the block, then on the adapter really brought the problem out. It was blocking off about 35% of the oil out port.
I have really trimmed and modifed the gasket as well... wish I had taken a picture of it before modification.

Almost identical to mine...
I had to modify my adaptor almost 10 years ago. I'm still not happy with the gaskets though, I'm sure there is still quite a bit of disturbance/turbulence with the oil flow in that area. I have noticed that for trimming gaskets, the Ford is thicker. I also worry about bleedover between the out and in ports... I see you cut yours a little wider in the center which may help prevent oil from bleeding from one to the other under pressure.
Thanks for the photo, I'm sure it has helped a bunch of people who have the same adaptor...Or, at least made them think about how well their oil is really flowing!
