I used the shop vac. Blew the water out the petcock on the radiator by blowing air into the thermostat opening. Don't forget to stuff a rag into your upper radiator hose or you'll be reminded in a hurry. That clears the intake water passages pretty well so when you pull it there is no water dripping all over. But you will still need to drain the heads and I just used the shop vac to suck the water out as best as I could. Really helps to keep the mess to a minimum. I know...blow, suck...insert punchline here. Good luck.
