8X better? That's really hard to believe. Why didn't they test any other motor oils - like Redline or Amsoil? Or did they?

Probably just a sales pitch. These guys can claim anything. They are under no obligation to tell the truth. Research & Development isn't always in sync with Sales & Marketing.
With that being said, I always liked Castrol products, and I've been quite happy using Castrol Syntec on many occasions in my M3.

In reference to Lubro Moly, Bavarian Autosport Fast Times (Fall 2009) reports that while Mobil 1 and Castrol Syntec are full synthetic oils, Lubro Moly is a 'hydrocrack' oil, meaning it's a restructured mineral oil with synthetic materials added for extra protection and longer life. Lubro Moly claims full synthetic does not mean better protection, but this is also somewhat subjective. American rating standards are also different than European rating standards.

A Saab owner was excited when I told him i found a source for Lubro Moly 0W40. Apparently, Euro spec ACEA/A3/B3/B4 is what is recommended for that car, as well as the newer Audis and VWs. I don't really know what the difference is to our local API ratings other than that the euro spec is more stringent and the oils last longer (what does THAT mean???) between change intervals...
The following Mobil1 grades meet this spec:
0W40
5W50
High Mileage 10W30
High Mileage 10W40
ESP Formula 10W30

This is according to attached PDF document from Mobil 1
