I have a fuel gauge sending unit question-

I have VDO electric gauges now. I bought the electric Smith gauges.
I need to find out which type of sending unit I have for the new gauge.
What do I need to do ?

Maybe I should post a new thread.

Below is part of a post I found on the net.

Different sending units for electronic speedometers. They listed the following - Signal generators or Hall Effect Generators/Switches, Vehicle Speed Sensor VSS, Magnetic Proximity Sensor, Signal Converters
