Show & Tell about your Acusump mounting ect.
I'm thinking about using a Accusump oil system on my new side oiler. I would appreciate your opinions and photo's of your setup.
Mainly used for the Pre-Oliing,...... not for full time road racing.
I have a oil cooler to install.
Canton RR oil pan.
I don't know if I want or need, to use a single or double oil filter "Relocating" kit. I may just buy the sandwich type, for a cleaner install ?
I assume, the best location for the tank is between the front of the engine and the radiator. I'll have to fab-up a mounting bracket. Has anyone mounted one in a different or better location ?
Probably the 3 qt. tank.
12" or the 16" unit.
Electric valve control. (which psi, 35-40/55-60) ?
Check valve.
Gauge.

Hey rusty-Yep, that's why I would rather have a sandwich, keep it clean.
Earl- why two tanks ?
And, can you take closer shots like the last you posted ?
What length is the tank, and the total length ?
Same question Pete ?
What activator, manual or electric ?

"Check valve"? My understanding is that you don't want a check valve because the way the Accusump is refilled is from engine oil pressure (once it returns). If you put in a check valve how will it refill?

Since yhis is a street car, and won't see a road course, skip the oil cooler. You'll never need it. It adds weight, complexity, and more leak points. It usually drops the pressure a little bit, too.
The simplest method is to use the sandwich plate, and one on line. And that's what you want - simple.
The check valve is used when you plumb the Accusump into the loop with a cooler line. Otherwise the oil will follow the path of least resistance - back to the pan.

The only reason for the oil cooler, is people expect it, just like the dual fan assembly, side pipes (S/C and Comp car's)

Both are 2 quart units, one is the pre-oiler and the other is the after oiler for the turbos (2).....both have check valves and the pre oiler has an electric valve. Still looking for more pics.......Earl

Funny at first I felt intimidated, then realized Hey it's my dream car,my money, and my name on the title and registration.Couldn't be happier with the results.Accusump is certainly a good idea for a car that sits over long winters.

Careful Kev... You're adding more weight to that already extremely heavy front end. You'll end up weighing as much as a GT500 You'll be the heaviest Lonestar in existence...
Here's my setup, 2 quart ... pre-lube duty...

Dave- did you get the electric ? What else did you buy ?
Yep, our LSC are heavy but, that makes them very stout !
The body's are the thickest I've seen.

Kev, I've an electric solenoid, dash mounted switch w/indicator light and a sandwich spacer/line take-off adapter between filter mounting pad and filter (no relocation). Included are stainless braided hoses and fittings. It wasn't a kit. You need to know exactly what you need and buy the individual components.
