Default Superformance Ball Joints

Anyone have experience replacing the ball joints in an older Superformance Cobra. Mine is circa 1996 and we are having great difficulty locating replacement ball joints - upper and lower.

I replaced the lower ball joints on SPF1823. This is hard to believe, but I think they were original equipment for a Chrysler K car! The ball joints screw in from the bottom.

My old records show Perfect Circle FA395 or Duralast FA395.

The new parts reduced the amount of 60 mph steering wheel shimmy.

Good luck,
Tom

Take a look at NAPA 10162. Should work for both the upper and lower joints.

Good luck.

Don't mess around with oem ball joints. Call Cobra Valley and order a set of their custom ball joints. Makes all the difference in the world. Your car will feel like it should have when originally delivered. Steering is much smoother and bumps are less jarring. That annoying front end vibration at 65-70 mph will probably disappear also. Mine did.

No I would not use the "factory" ball joints either. The stock joints I believe were sourced from a Dodge D100 van. The RT joints from Cobra Valley are awesome and everyone that has installed them has been thrilled with the results. I have not had time for mine yet, but they are very impressive to compare side by side. See link below.
