Default Wicked Rear Suspension Squeak In My SPF

I am the owner of a Superformance Cobra (#642). Over the summer it has developed a tremendous squeak in the rear suspension, both sides. It sounds like bushings to me. Short of taking the rear suspension apart and greasing all the bushings is there anything I can do to eliminate the noise. The slower I'm going the louder it sounds. Please help!

No easy way out. The bushings need greased.
WD40 will work briefly. It will at least let you know which ones are making the most noise. (Usually the two lower bolts at the base of the wheel hub). Grease is the answer.
Make sure the allenhead bolts start freely when reassembling. If they don't .... make sure the car has been checked for last years recall, and make sure the upper wishbone has been properly adjusted during wheel alignement.
Chances are, you can just pull the two allen head bolts off each side, apply some grease, put the bolts back in and be done.
Good luck

Bob-- This is somewhat of an uneducated response, but one quick, easy way to find where it's coming from is to spray some silicone lube on 1 bushing (or pair) at a time. If said squeaks disappear, you've sourced the problem.

Given it sounds like it's coming from both sides, and is more of a low speed issue, I would tend to look at the shocks. I have heard that Superformance replaced the Spax shocks due to long-term reliability issues. Perhaps yours have reached their half-life. Is there any oily residue around the shock's housing? This would be a sure sign that the seals are going.

Other possibilities would be the halfshaft CV joints, but I'm getting way beyond my mechanical know-how. Perhaps your Superformance dealer can offer a few suggestions. Good luck.

Default squeaky SPF

Rear squeaks on Super's often some from the shock bushings. They're urethane, and have no zerk fittings for effectively lubing them. The lower control arm bushes are hard plastic and do not squeak normally. If you did remove one of the allen bolts getting them back in can be a problem. You may need to mark the current adjustement on the adjuster cams, loosen them to allow you to get the bolts started, then realign the suspension by lining the marks up again. Torque the allens to 90 ft/lbs and use loctite red on the cleaned threads before reinstalling.Don't take the rear susp. apart to avoid this hassle. Back to the squeaks... just spray the red urethane bushings at either ends of the shocks with a spray lubrecant at every oil change. Urethane is squeaky when not slippery.
