Question Tunnel Port Heads

Anyone out there happen to know if you will have hood clearance on a E-M using 427 tunnel port heads and the original Ford 8V tunnel port intake? Checked with E-M and they stated they were not sure but they doubted that set up would clear their stock hood. Thanks for any input.

Default Tunnel Port Clearance

I believe that either George Anderson or Wayne Turpin are running the 2X4 set up and I don't recall if they had modified their hood any. I am sure George could tell for sure he is at:

I hope this helps.

No way the tunnel port 427 heads fit under the stock EM hood--you may have to call EM and get their modified hood for 460 cars, because that hood has a wider and slightly taller scoop. That may fit, but even it will be tight. The dual quad tp intake is set up as a tunnel ram, and is about 4-5" taller than the OE medium riser intake, which is about as tall as the common low riser performance intakes. If you have Ganahl's "Ford Performance", look on pp 57 and the tp intake is pictured on the lower left, below a MR intake. Are you sure you want to run this motor anyway?? Needs a lot of RPM to develop power.
