Wink My wife made me post this

Actually, she had nothing to do with this post, but plenty to do with the Cobra. Thought I'd offer 2 cents worth.

Hear this complaint a lot, and not just Cobras, but any car (or boat) project that's labor intensive. She's grumbling because of time being spent on project with her absence. "Honey, are you going to sleep with your car, or me tonight?"

Co-worker, female, has hub restoring an old Porsche. "I can't compete with those curves" she laments. Compete???? Like it's another female!

The object of your affection/frustration, is metal and plastic after all so try to find things she can do to help. Hold the droplight, hand you a wrench, offer a second opinion, something so that the car is not competing for your interest.

There are lots of little jobs that need an extra pair of hands. Mine helped drop the engine and trans in, install the pipes, install the top, install the seat belts, and we moved the seats 3 times until she thought they were centered and straight. Her own project was to install the interior padding and carpeting. Did a far better job than I would have although it cost almost $200 in spray glue.

I personally like power steering and if there was a way to install it, I was determined to find it. Plus, we plan on taking trips in this car. Typically we split the driving chores so it wouldn't be in my best interest if she couldn't drive it.

Lastly. She enjoys being 22 years old again as much as I do, driver or passenger. Another precaution I took was getting the cloth part of the seats I had done Scotchguarded. Guess why??? Ha. Ha.
