Question Ford 8.8 IRS

Anyone know how to interpret the Ford codes on the above mentioned center section? Mainly interested in the limited slip or locker code. Seem some have an "L" in the ration number (3 L 07)
and others don't. I've also seem some that have the ratio number with no "L", then 88, and then another set of numbers that I've been told holds a key to what it is. What gives?
Thanks,
Hurley

Don't know the key nor code reads but if you get one from a 89-95 SC or the 90-91 XR7 you'll have a good differential.

Default 8.8 IRS

Got one today out of a '94 MkVIII. Tag reads 3 07 I was under the impression all MkVIII's had limited slip but this one doesn't seem to. At least both axles don't rotate when you turn the pinion. But should make a nice set up anyway and one can always install an Auburn unit.

Have a good one!
