Standard rings for 427 Piston C3AE-AA groove size
I have just disassembled a 63 top oiler, had it cleaned, magged and miked. The results were tremendous +.001-.003 over on crank and bores so I am planning to replace rod and main bearings also the rings which I am having a hard time finding a set of standard rings. There has been some minor ware in the top ring groove about 1/128" it appears if the dimensions that I have heard are correct?? Top 5/64 Mid 3/32 and oil at 3/16 for this piston. Does anyone have the correct sizes of the ring grooves for the C3AE-AA piston that was made by TRW for Ford? TRW's records are very poor and do not have that info for me. Any input on the corect size and if someone has a set please let me know. This engine only had less tha 40,000
miles on it,and was parked in 1984
Thanks for your time,
Bob Buckley
