Question Need help with Stewart Warner part #

Friend with ATL fuel cell and new Stewart Warner Fuel gauge (deluxe as in FIA style) need to know correct part number for sending unit, and/or Ohms full, Ohms empty, dimensions of sending unit so that we can find him a sending unit that will work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yours In Fords,

Bill S.

Bill,
Got to know what SW gauge he has. If it is the standard SW gauge made for a SW sender, it is calibrated for 220 to 260 ohms full (240 nom), 80 to 120 half full, and 20 to 50 empty (33 nom).
Their senders are P/N 385B-F for a 6 to 12 inch depth left hand thread; P/N 385C-F 6 to 12 inch depth right hand; and 439361-f for 10 to 15 inch left hand. Don't know it they will fit the ATL cell, but I would think it should.
SW also makes fuel gauges like the above, but calibrated for GM 90 Ohms full, and FORD/MOPAR 73 ohms full. That's why I asked what gauge he has.

Default SW Support

Copied from previous posts and CF -

T&J Supply is the distribution warehouse and tech support for SW. 704-784-5588. Ask for Gary. I ordered the wrong gauge for my GM sender and was able to get the correct unit from T&J. A lot of places only stock the 0-240 standard.

0-240 full to empty standard SW - #82303
0-90 full to empty GM style - #82341
0-73 full to empty Ford style - #82342

Enzo sells sending units so that may be another resource for you.

Gary

If the fuel cell is foam filled, you can get an electronic sender which uses a straight down-tube (no swing arm) from Centroid Products. 904-423-3574. It is about 3/4" high, so requires a bit more space above the tank.
