Venting Cobra exhaust from your garage
What do you use when your cobra is up on stands and you need to run the engine and vent it from the garage?
I tried some of those 4" metal dryer exhaust pipes and stretched them the full 8'. Blew the last 2 foot off of them the first blip of the throttle! $20 and 5 minutes to ruin them. Was kind of cool seeing the exhaust shread the metal though!

Don't have any suggestions, but that is hilarious...at least for me.

Ren,
Perhaps you could try corrugated drain pipe. It's flexible and a lot stronger than dryer vent. I believe it comes in various diameters. Try a place like Home Depot or Lowes.

It was great! Then I heard this bzzzzzzzz (vibrating sound) and it was the one on the drivers side which ripped about 8" straight up the exhaust thingy.

Remote exaust
Dave:
What I have done is fabricate a 90 elbow with a slit in the side of it to allow it to clamp onto the side pipe exit, then run about 10' of a fabric "dryer type expandable hose" with a super trap type muffler on the end of each one. I run these under the garage door through a piece of ovalized tubing to keep the door opening to a minimum. Garage door is open about 1 1/2", fumes are out of garage and neighbors dont get too upset, although at first they can't figure out where the noise is coming from. Works for me!

I love it
Glad to hear your story saved me $20. But if it is any consolation everyone came over to see what I was laughing about. I had about the same success with a kerosene heater, I lit the damn thing and went back in the house. Came back out 20 mins later and the whole place was filled with smoke and black sh_t floating around. I had the wick too high and I over filled the tank. I decided right then to wait until today to do anything on my car. Temp here is about 15 degrees.

Bringing it to the top
Well,
I blew out my second set of vents for the garage. Geez, this is getting expensive???? Anyone know where you can get some legitimate garage exhaust tubes for venting your exhaust???

Ren,
Run down to a local Heating & Air Conditioning shop where they bend their own duct work. Tell 'em what you're trying to do and they should be able to bend up some tin tubes to run the exhaust out of the garage. Heck, with some swivel joints it might even be "flexible".

Sounds like something we used to do to the exhaust pipes on the other guys cars when I was an aprentice. We would sneak into the car park and slip a 1 foot piece of bicycle inner tube over the exhaut tip and wire it on. Doesn't do anything for venting the exhaust but it makes an loud farting noise when you drive along.
Cheers
