I agree with the polished slab.

Each geographical area has it's own special requirements

that being said I ask three guys biding concrete if they would use the fiber in their concrete. All said no.

Wire only with a high psi rated concrete was their recommendation.

I used 3000 PSI concrete with #4 rebar on a 24" grid pattern. It was more than what was required here. Mine is smooth finished but I had to put crack (control) joints in and if I had to do that over again, I would cut the crack joints after rather than trowel them in with a tool. My jack falls in the crack joint and I hate that!

Jeff: Good luck with the garage build. As you are aware, I gutted my attached (28' x 25') garage and rebuilt from the the ground up with the help of my two son-in-laws and son. Outfitted it with Gladiator cabinetry, rolling stock, 8ft work bench, race deck flooring, TV, Phone, heat, LED Lighting, refrigerator and plenty of power. I needed the loft space, so I had to forego a 4-post lift and opted for a Kwick lift which I purchased from Peter Bayer. I even thought about a pit, but local code rejected it. All sheet rock is 5/8" and insulation is R-13. Have fun with the build and your cars as we all go around only one time!
