Default Routing of Spark Plug Wires on 351W

I want to replace my existing plug wires but I want to route the new wiring over the valve covers versus routing around the front of each valve cover and along bottom of each cover to avoid the heat from the headers. Has anyone had expereince with the FMS wires for the 302/351W? Since these are custom fit wires, are they sized (length) to go over the valve covers?

You can do it either way. I have mine routed along the front of the valve cover, held in place with plastic (nylon) wire holders/standoffs from Summit. Looks neater (MHO) that way. If your headers are ceramic coated, they won't burn your plug wires either way. Using FMS 302/351W set and they fit fine, again either way.

That being said, I had the opportunity to compare the Accel 300+ race wires, and the FMS cores. The Accel cores are substantially fatter than the FMS, look like they'll carry a heavier amperage load, and last longer. Thinking of changing. Not as "Cool" looking as FMS, but my plugs might be happier.

Routed the MSD spark plug wires on my 351W along the bottom side of the valve covers and at the front to a MSD Distributor. Made for a neat looking installation and have not experienced any heat problems. The headers are coated.

Parts were purchased from Summit:

MSD-8841 8MM Spark Plg Wire $12.50
MFY-5095613 Horizontal Wire Loom $28.39
MSD-31349 Wire Set Super Cond $72.95

My FMS wires come over the top front corners of the valve covers then turn vertically, going through looms to run along the bottom of the valve cover rim to each plug. I could not get them directly over the top .
