Horns Again
Ok So I set myself up with the previous horn question...
What I meant to inquire is the mounting location of the horns on the car. Mine have never been mounted...

OH...the Cobra horns!!!
I picked up a set of the Hella 128 decible horns from Griots Garage and mounted them on the ritht side of the crossmember facing the radiator.
For a horn switch I picked up a Moroso long throw momentary toggle switch. The arm on the switch is about 1 1/2" long and is mounted on the dash in a position easily in reach.

Pretty much wherever you can find some room near the front of the car. Trak, Pep Boys, JCWhitney variety will work. Euro horns will work. An Oo-gah horn will work (it is a Ford, isn't it?). Someplace protected from direct water spray into the horn interior, and out of the way of everything else. They (It) can be mounted to the fiberglass if you remember to run a ground wire back from the horn frame to a chassis ground. And virtually all horns work off of a relay. The relay control side completes the ground (switched ground, like courtesy lights) through the steering column horn button to the frame. The power side goes to the horn.
Cobra horns are typically used to 1) beep at other Cobras, 2) beep at waving females, 3)beep just once annually for safety inspection.

If you want them to sound real loud and not be restiricted in anyway...mount them inside the car, maybe under the dash. They sound very loud then!!

I wouldn't mount them anywhere.
My uncle tried to mount some horns one time and got arrested on a morals charge. Sick bastard.
I would install them on the front X-brace facing forward.

Oh! I am sorry - I just saw that your horns have never been mounted. Virgin horns.
Those should never be mounted unless they have been properly prepared. GE Silicone Lube should be liberally smeared around the horn opening about 20 minutes before mounting in order to assure a smooth initial mount. Good luck!

I think a quick blip of the throttle would be louder and much more melodical than any horn.
