CT DMV
Agree with Bob in CT. The experience was to say the least , most challenging. The Cobra needs to be trailered, CT DMV will not allow the use of temp plates since they considered the Cobra to be a, using their term " Composite" and temps could not be issued for the emmissions testing until the safety inspection was completed.
I had a legal State of Wisconsin Bill of Sale, prior registration, and title, all properly notarized, with matching VIN. These documents were not valid in Conn. Obtain and conform to all the regulations in the publication on registering a Composite car. Took me three visits as the DMV would not inspect the paperwork without having the car with me.
On the positive side, the two DMV officiers in the Anti-Theft unit which issues the CT VIN were just great. They were very considerate, polite, understood the process and affixed the CT VIN with care as to the position and appearance.
