inner door panels
does anyone know of a pre made inner door panel for these cars? the ones I have seen seem to be made by local upholstery shops,rather pricey, thanks upfront for any help.

I too have yet to do my door panels...The only ones I have seen premade are at Tristate MotorSports...for 150 bucks USD

Also FFR sells a set that is basically the material to do a dashblank ,doorpanels, e-brake boot etc ...you still have to do the work though. same price...143

Try A&C in Buffalo. Mine just arriveds and look nice. I'm just not sure about the mating area with the door hinge, and how your door might be a little different. Shell Valley has been helpful too and could source them for you.

Make your own door panels. I made mine with a piece of hardboard, some padding, grained black vinyl, contact cement, and attached to the door with silver appearance screws. They turned out great and probably cost all of $40 and took a couple of hours to make. They sure look better than the piece of vinyl the PO glued on. My next project is door latch straps.

Good plan, I will be making mine as well
I have cardboard for templates and will be doing them in vinyll as well. The bottom done in matching carpets isn't bad either. If I get brave you may see an attempt at mappockets...LOL
Really it will cost us materials and at that theres very little...

I had to save the pic then lighten it up to see the detail....looks good.
Did you use backing/padding behind the vinyl or is it glued right to the hardboard?
You doing this on the fly as we speak?? I thought you had it done already....wow.

Tim, sorry about the picture quality. I was in a hurry. The door panels were done,but I added the pockets and pull straps yesterday. If I'd known it was going to be so easy I would have done it a long time ago.

Some more details re: cobra panels
"Doorpanels
427S/C The S/C was not fitted with door pockets. The inside of the door was trimmed with black Vinyl or leather.
427R The inside of the door was trimmed like the S/C, but the Roadster also had door pockets. (Black)
AC289 As for the Roadster, but the colour of the material matched the rest of the upholstery.
Door trimming
All the models had an aluminium strip along the sill of the door. This strip extended from the bottom of the hinge all the way around the bottom of the door sill to the door latch striker. The strip was engraved with the "FOMOCO" logo in the centre."
