It should completely seat on the shoulder of the tube.. UNLESS.. It was not seated that way before you took it out.. Like you were looking that far ahead right..
Why reuse a stock stick? Lokar makes a really cool billet and stailess steel braided unit.. Search lokar in the forum and you will find the part # and Their phone number. It is a brand new product mostly produced by popular demand mostly by pople here in club cobra.. I have a photo up in my gallery of the one I put in.. It makes the top of the stick almost vertical and it mounts further back off the #5 header bolt.. Good luck!
