Default Holley 900cfm Throttle Body CFI?

Does anyone have any experience with a Holley 900 cfm throttle body efi set up? I have a 464cid stroked 427 at around 535hp and am running a modified Holley 750 w/vac secondary now. It runs fine, but, fuel economy is not a reality over 10mpg at steady highway speeds! Racing, I'm lucky to get 4-5mpg. I would guess I could get better all around response and better fuel economy all the time with a cfi system.

Jerry

I've replaced throttle body efi with Holley 4bbls before, finding more power and throttle response in the process. You have a 462cid big block, it will never sip gas even with a really good b.s.f.c. but you should be able to get 10 -12 mpg on the highway if you have overdrive. That motor sounds like it would like an 850 double pumper more that a 750 vac sec.

Hi Jerry I have a fuel injected 452FE motor in my ERA. The throttle body is a 1200cfm accel with TPS, IAC, The brain is a Speed pro sequential. The manifold is a single plane medium riser Dove that a added injector bosses to. TWM makes a 55mm weber type carb. My engine is supercharged with a Paxton 2000. Weber type carbs make better horsepower and tork than the average carb. The carb wins at wide open throttle, who has there foot on the floor all the time. A carb is cheaper than fuel injection to work on, but when I need to adjust the car, I use my laptop. no wrench or jet change. The motor is running at peak condition in all weather conditions My kit was 3500.00$ I think it was the best chose for my car Good Luck with your car Rick Lake
