Default Kirkham#182 started today.

Well today we started to tear apart (remove carefully) all the sheet metal on KMP182 to get it ready for the suspension installation.
This whole process may take more time than I had thought.
I'll post a couple of photos in my gallery.

ST,

Now that you and Computerworks have joined the sacred ground of Kirkham ownership - have you ever thought about starting a Kirkham Enthusiast club to promote your cars?

See this thread - as I think there is interest, but we need someone to get it stated and I can't think of a better leader than a new owner.

What do you think?

http://65.200.22.105/forums/showthre...threadid=13408

How about Computerworks?

As a Kirkham wannabe - I am jealous of you both.

Best Regards,

Keith

I think some sort of owners group would be a good idea, however I'm going to be a little busy "assisting" my builder.
I think YOU would be a good candidate for getting it started.
You'll have way more free time than me.
As a matter of fact if you wanted to come over and do a little aluminum sanding I wouldn't mind.

ST,

Great pics of KMP182.

The more I see the raw shots of the Kirkham car, the more I want one. It is such a quality build.

Come on David & Thomas...get to work on that slabside!!!!!!!

ST,

Although I appreciate your support for getting it started, I am at one very serious/fatal disadvantage. I do not yet (nor will I in the short term), be in a position to procure said Kirkham. Not that I am giving up, au contraire (sp?), I will just have to save my pennies.

Seriously, I think it would mean a lot more if the "founders" were Kirkham owners. I can understand if you are too busy working on your wonderful car.

How about Rick Lee, ot Budman, or Computerworks??

I would be willing to help.

Best Regards,

Keith "Future Kirkham wannabe owner" Brown

Seriously I think you have a good idea there. Maybe one of the others you mentioned would like to start up something.
Being that I'm in the begining stages of this project I'm somewhat overwhlemed at what's involved.
I'll attempt to document the build as much as possible with photos and if you want I'll email them to you. It sounds as though you'll be involved in this same project in the future.

St,

I would love to take you up on your kind offer of build photos.

My email address is:

keith.brown@hedus.com

Thanks in advance and good luck with the build.

Now if only we can talk one of the other guys into leading the club. - Hmmm - any takers?

Best Regards,

Keith

Default Update

I thought some of you guys may want to see an "in process" photo. KMP182 is coming along very nicely. We are slowly assembling the suspension, holding off on any major assembly until the body is done. I won't steal the spotlight from ST any further. Please excuse the crummy photos. I just took a couple on the way home tonight.

Kris,
You probably find this easier to do than converting his ERA into an all aliminum car, pamel by panel. Make sure Sheldon has enough money left for the buffett.

Also no parts should be stored in the house. He does not know exactly when he may have a house guest or two. We need to keep the bedrooms clear of parts.
Have fun with the project.

The aluminum work on the ERA was just a test, I wanted to make sure Kris really could do what he says.
Wait till I ask him to carpet the trunk in the Kirkham.

Jamo
I agree, it's kind of a 2000lb. Viagra tablet.

I am not sure that the Gashole Counsel didn't get us in the Bellagio buffet "Black Book". Once you are on the buffet black book, you can never enter another buffet in the entire state.
