Most comfortable seats

I am looking for opinions on who makes the most comfortable seats the look some what like the originals. My older Unique has seat that look like the originals somewhat but I have sat on benches that where more comfortable.

Personal debate is have them redone or replece them. No under thigh, lumbar nor lateral support. Still want the seats to have an 'original' look to them, with out the original feel!

Pics or links would be nice!

Thanks

I really like SPF seats, but they are very expensive.

Unique has a "spacer" available to go under the front of the seat to lean it back. This helps a bunch on the comfort level. Of course, you MAY have to redrill and remount. The foam they (their supplier) uses in the seat is pitiful. Have an upholstery shop replace your seat cushion foam with some MORE DENSE.

When I take a long cruise, I have a nice dense foam tapered cushion I throw in to sit on. Can ride all day!**) **)

spacer thickness

Do you know how much they raise the front of the seat with the spacer? I was definiatly going to do that no matter what my decision is. Do you know if the spacer runs the full length of the track or is it just under the front of the seat?
Thanks

The spacer goes under the front of the seat mounting position, not the length of the track. The one I saw is approx. 1" high, but I'm sure it can be varied upon request.

Good Luck!

Unique Seats

Even though I like the "Classic" look of the Unique seats, they definately are in need of a high density foam overstuffing. I made a 2000 mile pilgrimage to attend the annual Unique Homecoming this year and was very thankful for the extra foam piece that I had positioned between me and the seat.
The point about raising the front of the seat seems to be a popular option for increasing the comfort level. You would be "cradled" a bit more, you wouldn"t be sitting "bolt-upright", and you would lose the tendency to slide forward. I"ll be raising my seat edge about 1/2 inch and finding an upholsterer who can
keep the seat look while adding more padding and support.
At Carlisle I tried an SPF seat and found it to be fairly comfortable but I did not like the appearance compared to my Unique.

Y'all,
My wife likes the SPF (2002 construction) seats better than my Mitsu3000GTVR4. When giving rides, many people comment on how comfortable they are, surprisingly so, given the g-force they're getting.

For the driver's side, I had the folks at Dynamic (Ross, OH), pitch the seat a bit further back and bring the knees up a bit compared to the seat. That gave me a better driving position, which was comfortable for the drive to and from VIR (1,000 miles total) and two days of track, in addition to my (nearly) daily drive to workj over fairly crappy highway construction.

Most cobra seats are just fiberglass buckets with foam layed over them for cushoning. The SPF seats have a more traditional construction style with webbing to support the foam, and a steel reinforcing perimeter loop for strength. HUGE difference

SPF seats

Any one know what they want for a set?

I went with the Classic Cobra seats. Much like the originals but a big higher and they wrap around you. Tubular construction. Cost about 185/ea. The only thing I would do is put in a little extra lumbar padding. Otherwise they are great.

I think the Classic Roadster 's seat are one of the most comfortable. At DVSF I and DVSF II, I had several people that owned Factory Five cars trying out the seats in my Classic Roadster. Evey one of them did not find the FFR seats comfortable on extended drives. They all commented on how much more comfortable the CR seats were. I have driven for extended periods (4,5,6,hours at a time) and always found the seats to be very comfortable. Even more comfortable than the bucket seat in my new Dodge Ram. The CR seats have side support as well as lumbar support.
Were you at DVSF II ? This would have been a perfect place to test all the different manufacturers seats.
