Exclamation Unique Fan -I mean cooling

Anybody put a puller fan behind the rad on a current Unique car???? With a sway bar??? I would love to, hoping to see significant temperature improvement in traffic. I got two 10" I was going to try, but they are just too tight in there to fit right. Going to smaller diameter would work, but why do it if you only get wimpy cfm. Can anybody see something I can't here??

Dan,

I have a SPAL 16 in. fan that I got from Southern Automotive .Lewis said that it would keep my car cool and they use them quite often.
Part # 30100400
Other # VA18-AP10/C-41A 12VDC

HOPE THIS HELPS

Eric

Question

Bob, thanks. There is 2" between bar and radiator. It runs right across the middle of the rad. So, nothing worthwhile is going to fit between.

Eric, thanks. Don't know of a 16" that will go. Wish it were so. Need to fit above the sway bar. Two 9" side by side would work, but the CFM is low low low.

WYT,

How about two 9" fans for the back and a pusher for the front, or even a single large front pusher. The Spal fans come either way, and their ducting makes them work pretty well as pushers.

Exclamation

Bob,

I have the dual pushers (replica type) in front now. Really don't want to change that look. I have looked at the SPAL specs and only the 9" "thin" fans will fit, but that's only 1,500 CFM. The higher output fans are too deep.

You think it's worth the trouble for 1500cfm???

Dan,

The 16 in. fan that I have is only 2.05 in. thick. They said that it has been installed on several Unique cars between the Rad. and sway bar. He said that they have used 2 10 in. puller fans but the 16 in. cooled much better. Give Southern a call about it.

Hope this helps.

Eric, thanks.

Yes now I see the 16" that you are referring to. I believe it will work, but I was hoping/wishing for more than 1300 cfm. It may be the best option though. I don't think the fan with 2.48 thickness at the motor will work.

Get into Knoxville, email. Call 865-250-1335
