Converting Rad Inlet
Last week I installed a new Griffin Radiator in my Cobra, however the way I had to run my lower radiator hose in not very practical nor safe. So I intend to take my radiator to a radiator shop and have them tig weld a 40 degree inlet facing down to to my new radiator. My kit is a B&B and my radiator is tilted forward about 40 degrees. By correcting the angle of my rad inlet it will allow my lower hose to run under the front of my frame as my kit was originally designed.
Can anyone think of any reason why I shouldn't make this modification to my radiator?

I don't know how your crossmember interferes with the hose but on my A&C, with a forward tilted rad, I ran a 90 deg piece and then a 60 deg alum elbow with petcock. This runs under the crossmember. From there I ran a single piece of corregated hose to the pump.
On the new radiator I just ordered from Afco Racing I had -16 AN fittings installed top and bottom. I used a Goza hose to AN adapter on the water pump.

Clois, my EM was set up the same way, w/ the hose under the frame. When I went to the Rad Shop I use for a minor (different) repair, the guy installed a neck in my radiator that let me run the hose above the frame rail...peace of mind! It's worth a thought!

I am headed over to the rad shop at noon today and I will have them alter my inlet and install a pitcock (glad you mentioned it Roscoe). I am also going to have them weld some brackets on so I can mount my fan without going through my fins.

stupid question?
I have what may be a stupid question. The water pump on my 351w is an weiand unit. My radiator is an aluminum crossflow with the cooled water outlet at bottom driverside.
Does this connect to the water pump or intake manifold ?
I thought it connectoed to the water pump !

The bottom connection always goes to the water pump.

Didn't work.
Well as usual things didn't go as I expected. Can't weld on my Griffin (expoxy will melt between tubes). Got to send it back to Summitt. Called Griffin and Be Cool techs and for help and for $1,045.00 Be Cool can take care of me (I think thats how should be worded). Griffin will custom make me a rad in about 3 weeks (no good couldn't make Run and Gun).
So last night I got a call from Don Morris in Oklahoma City and he recommended "Arts Radiator" in New Jersey. Don said he had done some work for another one of our Cobra Buddies in OKC and Dennis was real happy with his work.
I called Art this morning who according to Don is one of the smartest Rad guys around. Art listened to my needs and complaints and made several recommendations and then told me to draw him a picture of what I needed with my critical diminsions on it and he would make up a cross flow radiator for me tomorrow with brackets and fan mounting tabs. The only modification I will have to make is move my outlet hose over to the driver side and change the pictch of my radiator to not more than 28 degrees. I sure hope this works!

Find another welder!
I had my Griffin outlet moved and a drain added with no problem.
Also had a bung added for a temperature sensor.
Snakeboy also had his modified a couple of weeks earlier. Should not be a issue.
