Default Source for 8 Guage automotive wire

I need about 12 - 15 feet of 8 guage automotive wire to connect my alternator to my battery cuttoff mounted on the rear cowl. I have hit up Napa, the local auto discounter, etc and cannot find any. Anyone know a good source? I have thought of standard home wire, but do not know if it is flexible enough and resistant to oil and vapors like the automotive stuff is.

Thanks,
Tom

Tom, If you don't have a local Home Despot try any of those places that install high end car stereos. They'll have primary wire down to sausage sizes. Also you can mail order online from Summit, Jegs, or one of my favorites for goodies, MCM at http://www.mcmelectronics.com and you can get 100' of #8 ga in clear or blue for thirty-nine bucks. They have other colors too.

Any Radio Shack will carry this. They carry it for high amperage sterios, and have it in clear, red, and black. And they'll cut it to length for you so you don't have to buy an entire spool for a few feet.
