Jag is Salisbury made by Dana. They have steel clutches if they are limited slip. If not limited slip, any good 90 Weight hypoid gear oil will work. If they are limited slip, the oil needs the limited slip additive. Either buy the oil with the additive already in it or buy a small bottle and add as directed.

BTW Don't try to mix and match Dana and Salisbury parts. Put them side by side and you'll quickly see why. That said, you can put in all Dana parts and they will fit. Hunting up the right bearings is a pain, but it can be done. It's a lot cheaper than trying to chase down Salisbury parts and pay through the nose for them. Also, Dana has a lot more gear ratios to offer. Want 3.77's like original S/C's? Probably can't find Salisbury's, but you can get Dana 3.73's from any parts house in America.

Availability of the Moroso Lube has been spotty.

From our latest assembly manual :

Differential: Fill with Moroso climbing gear lube, SAE 90, part number 34800, mixed with 4 to 8 oz. of Amalie limited slip additive (part # 505-6775). If the above are not available, you may use 80W-90 GL5 lubricant with an equivalent limited slip additive. If the limited slip seems to be sticking (ratcheting around sharp corners), drain and refill, replacing the Amalie additive with 2 tubes of GM additive 1052358.

There is an aluminium tag on a bolt for the back cover. It will either give a ratio directly like 2.88 or the numbers of the teeth on ring and pinion that divide to the ratio. A Snake, I thought the originals had a 3.54 ratio? I figure the 3.73 is close enough.
Cheers Nick
