Question Webers famous 48IDAs

I heard that the famous and very rare 48IDAs have gone back in production. Does anyone know more about this (same style, price compared to rebuilt ones, .....) ?
Regards,

Walter,
After reading your post I did a web search and could not come up with any news about "new 48IDA's".
A good place to get info should be www.inglese.com or a direct inquiry can be made via e-mail at www.info@inglese.com

Walter-

I spoke with Dan at Inglese last week; he assured me that new 48 IDAs have already been produced in Italy. He also said they will be available in the U.S., but he does not know exactly when or what the cost will be.

A way to look at these would be compare them to the 48 IDF's. I would not expect them costs to do much on these carbs.

This story has been circulating for about 18 months. Still haven't seen anything materialize. The issue for original owners will be the issue of NOS carbs to the new ones produced. The NOS will still be the preferred in some circles.

i've also heard the rumours and while at the local weber supplier 2 days ago, was told that they are indeed being made. another u.s. based dealer has sold his consignment and is not sure if he will receive more. i ordered some and they are due at the end of the month. the number to be produced is unclear. i don't know if they will differ from the latter series ida's.

i agree with cal though. the originals will still hold their value amongst the collectors/restorers and owners that demand original items.
