Default Need Ford C6 Info

I have a Ford C6 in my E-M Cobra. It is a PGA-A transmission and I need a tailshaft housing. Does anyone have a reference that can tell me what vehicles this trans was used in. I think it was late 60 early 70 Ford P/U 4 W/D. I need to try and locate this housing. Thanks up front for any help you can give me

Squeaker,

I am not to familiar with automatics as I just have a C-4 in my Comet and all the Cobras are either 4 or 5 speeds. But you might contact Bill Emerson at emerson Motorsports as he builds a lot of Cobras and they have used a lot of C-6 and C-4 variations. nJust a thought but maybe if he doens't know he can give you a lead about where to find out. And I am sure there are a lot of guys in this club that know a lot about them too. Good luck.

Might not hurt to just give your local transmission shop a call. They will have all of the reference #'s.

I have a rebuilt c-6 that I plan on putting in a car I'll build for my wife. It came out of a 2 wheel drive early pick-up. You shouldn't have any trouble finding the tail shaft in most any salvage yard. As a matter of fact, I saw one at my local yard recently. Best of luck. Ken:

Thanks for the input guys, Iwas previously a Ford dealer and because of the age of the trans. I cannot find any info on applications using my old parts catalogs and contacts. I have checked with my local trans shops with same results. I know there are many output shaft configurations. This case is short and would work well in my car.

Try:

Gary's Transmission
440-234-5965
ask for Paul

They have the right combination of old-school knowledge and computer aided tracking.
