Default FE break in

Can any one recomend what oil to use when breking in my FE??

Always use a good mineral based, no synthetics until after break end period. 1 to 2 thousand miles or 25 hours on the engine.

I thought I read somewhere someone recomended Halvaline (spelling?) 5-50W ??? Make sence?

And........use your garden hose on the radiator, keep the temp around 180-200 during cam break in.

He e-mailed me this in part of a general reply.......

"Engine Oil...we use 30 weight but just about anything is OK...the cam manufacture should say what they want and I don't see much problem with 10/30.
EOS 1/3 in filter and 2/3 with oil....then prime engine and you should also try to turn the crank over a bit by hand during the prime to get things every where.
I'd change it after the breakin and then again perhaps after 10-15 hours of engine run time...cut the filter open after the breakin to ensure everything looks clean. "

FYI EOS is GM's engine oil supplement.
Good stuff for the breakin of the cam.

Now what flavour oil is up to you.
