Does anyone know on a 1/2 in thread, shifter knob with a switch built into it.

I'm guessing the switch is for a line lock....

Check with B&M; and Mr Gasket (Hurst).

Yea, a line lock , that'd be good. then at speed it could also be an ejector seat!

right! line lock!

turk: thought I read that thread; but did'nt recall any knobs with switches.

Where do most put the line lock? the only one I have seen installed was hosed clamped to the shifter. Looking for a more tidy solution. Anyone used a button on the steering wheel spoke?

I am becoming the resident knob expert. Thanks to a few on the forum I have started a nice collection. I must say I don't have one with a swich or a button built in.

I974-75 era Volvo 242 etc. had a gear shift that had a built in slider type of switch right on top of the gear shift knob.

Maybe you can adapt one of those.

The question comes to mind if I've read your cars stats right, you have a 5spd. Why a line lock? All that's going to do is help you fry your clutch faster.

Just a suggestion: save your money and learn to feather the clutch for launching the car in a drag race.

niles,
Could you be talking about a shifter knob from a Vette? I know most autos use a knob with a release button to move shifter out of park position. I have never seen what size of thread they were though.
