Your pictured manifold is a 68 version. C8AE and was intended for the 428 SCJ engine.

It's not the height of the carb surface that separates med riser from low riser, it is the position and shape of the intake runners themselves.

How about a picture of the intake ports. As Al pointed out there are a big difference in the size of these when comparing the low rise and the medium.

If you look in my galley there is a picture of the intake ports on a pair of low riser heads. You can see the massive height of the low riser intakes. A medium riser is more square in shape.

If we could see a picture of the ports on the intake it should solve the issue?

Well Sal we have low rise manifolds.

To confirm this i took my little shop mirror and a mini mag lite and took a look down through the throttle openings (w/o carbs on),at first i thought it wasnt going to work ,but a little trial and error and i could see to the valve stems! ...................also about 3/16 of shiny milled metal along the bottem of each runner as it mated with the head............ damn!! ......................

any one like to sell a med riser? any one want to buy a low one ?

Yes frequently particularly early in '63 manifolds were unmarked. the K suffix was a later unit likely installed on a 428, but look at the way the number is stamped and not cast, this co mingling of parts was common. Karl's is an "A"..

I have a C3AE-9425-H intake manifold...does the "H" indicate a high-riser?
