Question Contemporary Parts - Sidepipes and fuel filler hose

Greetings and help!,

I have the '69 Camaro fuel tank setup on this 427 body styled car. The rubber moulded fuel filler hose has split.

I can't find a parts house here in the frozen north with decent inventory, and without a part number to provide the clerks, I draw a blank stare.

I recall Peter Bayer having advised that this rubber hose was a Ford part from a Mustang. Does anybody happen to have this number handy, or know exactly what car this part had been on.

As well, I'm converting from under car exhaust to sidepipes. I have a 289 so will have to fabricate headers. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's aware of Contemporary's former supplier for sidepipes. Hoping for a low grief conversion.

Have a great day.....Denis

Sidepipes & Headers- Tubular Automotive 617 878-9875 located in Rockland, Mass. 02370

Fuel hose-Ford #C4DZ-9047-C or Gates #2393-2 and you may have to cut hose end by a couple of inches to get it to fit.

Hi Denis,
You may also want to check Headers by Ed if you decide to build your own. That's what I'm going to do for my E-M. I friend of mine has been using him for years and is very happy with the parts and service.

Good Luck!

wt; much obliged. This is welcome information, and will save me much time.

Jon; I was looking for a source for stainless tubing, and none of the racing supply houses I had contacted carried it. Thanks for the reference.

Try Bill Connolley at Daytona- Upstate Replicas and he will know if they are still in business, or perhaps have what you need. Good luck .

Denis:

For your headers and sidepipes, try Stainless Specialties www.stainless-specialties.com . I do not have any experience with them, but I hear they make a great product.

wt,

I've sent Bill an e-mail. I can't believe how difficult it is to get a piece of rubber fuel filler hose in this town. I've been to rad shops, auto parts stores, dealers etc....nothing.

John; I'll take a look at the 'stainless' site. Thanks.

Brrrrrr. With the wind we're at -30 degrees here. Takes the urgency and anxiety out of fixin' - can't go anywhere anyway.

Denis,

Tubular has always been a pain to get in touch with. If anyone knows it will be Connelly. Reminder...if you want pipes in stainless, they do sound different than standard pipes, a bit more tinny.

HOSES:
Also, check w/ Racer Parts Wholesale (1-800-397-7815) for that filler hose. They have a 2 inch flexible hode sold by the foot.

part # FSS-CH200 (clear 2 in. filler hose $7.88/foot)

I used Gates Green Stripe 2" from my local NAPA store.. It was a couple bucks a foot. Let it warm up in the house to soften it up before you try to put it on.
