inboard jag brakes
does anyone know of a kit or who can tell me how to take my current inboard set up to an outboard set up. while working on my chassis i've realized it is going to be a pain to change the brake pads with the calipers being located inboard. any help would be appreciated.

Accurate Machine Products has hubs for outboard brakes. There was also one or two years that the XJS had them. Very rare.

Flip your calipers over to the rear of the center section and you will have all kind of room to change pads. CWI makes an adapter for use with Wilwood calipers, so you lose some weight also. Accurate may also make the adaptor, or you can make one yourself.

I checked your gallery.
All I saw was the puppy picture.
Feel free to email me a pic.

Bill Cook-if you look in my gallery there is a photo and if you click on the photo it will enlarge. My caliphers are Wilwood and are made out of black anodized aluminum. Like Perry's, you can change them in a couple of minutes and if you want to work on caliphers or rear end, you don't have to drop the rear end.
Perry- do you experience any flex in your lower control arms? Do you have trailing arms to the front? Looks like you would have good adjustability on your tires for camber, etc.. Is that a Unique set-up or one you engineered? Looks good.

No flex and no front trailing arms, I heard some people were bending the lower control arms under high torque and horsepower so I built this to add strength. There is a small amount of camber adjustment according to the alignment shop.

Bob Putnam,
Bob,
Is it possible just to buy the hubs? I would like to do that (have just the hubs) as an add-on but don't know what that entails or even if it can be done to otherwise stock Jag halfshafts and control arms. I know I could just call George---but I want to find out if it's "doable first"---and maybe scarf up some hubs separately. AMP may not just sell the separate parts.
Thanks for any help.

Fred,
Our outboard-brake-design hubs are not interchangeable with the Jag pieces. I'm pretty sure that the AMP pieces are. I strongly recommend that you don't change to urethane bushings in any of the pieces unless you like wheel hop...
