Re-attaching grille on side?

Left side louver (?) came loose from body and needs to be re-attached. Getting to it from the inside is a challenge with the steering column and other parts nearby... Any suggestions or good ideas here? Pic is below....

Not the most sopisticated way but about four years ago I had the same problem on that same side. I got the louver completely out, cleaned all around the mounting lip and then put a layer of E-6000 glue around it. I then worked the louver back onto the mounting lip and used a bungee cord to pull it against the inside of the car overnight. I have never had a problem since. Not the greatest wat to do something but it sure beat taking all the steering collum and everything out. Just say mine is held together by glue and a high grade chewing gum.

Mine got knocked out by my knees during engine work in the beginning.

I used some silicone glue and used a bungy cord, as ron indicated, to hold it over night. been on there good for 6 months now. no problems.

I'm going to take them off to paint them soon, and will use the same method.

Any need for hi-temp silicon glue? Probably the stuff you get at Napa is better than the home version made by GE or something?

Try looping some heavy rubber bands through the louvers, then insert a couple paint sticks through the rubber bands so that they(lightly) rest against the outside of the body. This holds tension on the piece while the adhesive dries.

I had the same problem with my louvers, but took care of it permenantly by attaching an aluminum bracket to the louver and
riveting it to the body side after countersink and filled, re-painted the rivet tops cant tell its there.
