thanks roscoe, you ought to be getting paid by these guys for your ringing endorsements of this product. Everybody seems to rave about this thing. The setup I ordered was $189 with the rubber boot. I don't believe it comes with a shifter and I always intended to use the bent shifter.

maybe it does come with it but I cannot recall. I looked up the SCOF technical doc but it really only tells you to peel back the carpet and look for the metric allen bolt. I have read elsewhere here that it's a good idea to use mild loctite on the bolts that secure the shifter. any other suggestions are appreciated, but I am sure I can do some more digging here to get the line by line info.

no, i don't "flush" the trans, i just drain it hot, put the drain plug back in, and fill it up standing there, by the engine, the air cleaner top works well to hold your beer can and ham sandwich.
