Modifying front lower suspension arms etc
I have a Cobra front suspension design that is probably similar to most original style cobras, I want to shorten the lower front suspension arms, that is move the spindle inwards 3/4" so I can run Trigo wheels, this by cutting out the outer ball joint retainer and moving this inward. I know longer is better but I cant see that this will affect bumpsteer or angles to any great degree.
I contacted Lynn Park today and he has only 3.5" offset on the five lug design hubs, and my front track is to wide to utilize this offset.
If I moved the whole lower arm pickup points inward that would upset the relationship of the lower arm to steering rack and cause bump steer, its easy to alter the top arm, and shorten the steering rack by cutting and re threading the arms if necessary, my track is just over 27" hub to hub.
