The older Shell Valley chasis used longer coil-overs in the rear, which were typically the red steel Aldan shocks. If you have the aluminum coil-overs, then you most likely have the same length coil-over in the front as in the rear.
If you have a blue paint mark on your rear coil-over spring, that denotes a 250# spring. Check your front spring to see what the color marking is to determine the spring rate. Also measure the distance between the center of the top and bottom mount of your front spring with the vehicle weight on it. You may be over-compressing the shock and in turn dropping your frame.
