Rick,
I have a MSD ignition mounted behind the dash on the passenger side. All my wiring runs down the area on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel then goes under the engine and around the front of the oil pan area and up underneath the water pump. So you see nothing on top of the engine. I used the oil pan studs to hold my metal/rubber aircraft type clamps. Had to ream out the holes for a 5/16" stud, wanted to use the clamp that did the job but not too big. You can make your own studs if you have bolts in the oil pan, just use 5/16" allen screws that are about 1 1/4" long and double nut them with washers, you will need 4 or 5 of these. I ran the wiring inside a 3/8" wiring loom then ran 1/4" loom up to the coil and water temp. sending unit. The MSD harness to the distributor was run seperately. I did have to buy an extra piece of MSD harness which was available at a local Speed Shop. Makes a real clean engine compartment. With a solid lifter engine you benifit from it as there are no wires to mess with when your pulling valve covers.
