Holley Adjust-a-Jets?
Has anyone used the Holley Adjust-a-Jet kit? It seems like it would be a good idea , but before I order it, I want to see if anyone has actually used it and, if so, what your impressions were?
Thanks |
Never seen it, what is it?
I still have an Unused Holley float bowl with removable plugs so you can change jets without removing the fuel bowls, never used that either. |
Fixit-
The adjust-a-jet kit allows you to effectively change primary jet sizes with the turn of a screw. By using metering rods instead of jets, you can change the mixture simply by turning the metering rods while the car is running. For some reason, I could not get Holley's website to work, but below is a link to someone that is selling one of the kits on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2437152038 |
I wouldn't want it. The metering blocks are really the heart of a Holley carb, I would be suspicious getting a totally redesigned metering block. Adjusting the main jets while the car is running, why? They don't affect idle very much, so doing it while running is of no benefit. I think somebody used to sell a kit very similar, made by Percy's or something. If you could adjust it from the cockpit, might be good for Pike's Peak race, where the altitude change is great. I would also rather have a plain orafice, then adjust flow with a needle and seat valve.

I've tried using them.....didn't like them. I bought the ones made by Percy, before Holley bought them out. It's not a redesigned metering block, you add this block in addition to the one already present....I tried mainly for the dragstrip...but found the adjustments to be waaaaaay off and not precise.
