Wheelwell product that eliminates rock "starring" (NO PUN INTENDED)

Can anyone out there offer advice on how to prevent potential "stars" in a fresh paint job from rocks slinging off one's tires inside the wheelwells? Is there some product that can be applied inside the wheelwell that will protect from this occurring? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
