Mine knows where the spare set are and knows she can drive it anytime she wants. I have no fear of her doing anything stupid, she knows how to control her right foot. It isn't something she really enjoys without power steering and power brakes though. The hardest thing is getting the car seat in for our daughter (who really enjoys tooling around town in it).

Keys eh...........
My wife has the keys to my heart, she has driven the cobra around the block to say she has done it, but admits she is not a good enough driver to take a street legal race car out on her own, many guys I see out there shouldn't either.
I'm not comfortable giving any member of my family a key to the graveyard, the cobra can be replaced, she can't. I would have no problem giving her the keys if she had the training and experience nessessary to handle the car.
Perry.

My wife has no desire to drive mine. She enjoys cruising in it, feeling the neck snapping exceleration. But driving it herself is just to scary for her.

Luckily for me she would never want to drive it. If she would I don't think I would have bought it

We have keys to all our cars on both keyrings, so that's not an issue.
Car does have power steering and power brakes along with a smooth shifting blueprinted T5Z. Motor is stock displacement 351W with all the usual stuff and is good for 400HP at the flywheel.
She's a good driver, although by my standards, a little conservative. She helped build the car, and should enjoy driving it when she wants to. If she wants to. Most women are somewhat intimidated bya car with this much power, particularly one with no power assists, and bad habits.
Ours is pretty well balanced and has no bad habits. Driving it, once you get used to it, is pretty easy. And therein lies the caveat, "Once you get used to it". Driving a Cobra requires re-learning driving skills all over again. (At least it did me.) Having owned, and driven sports cars, and muscle cars most of my adult life I thought this would be a quick process. It wasn't. And after about 2 years behind the wheel of this thing, I'm sure the car has far more capabilities than I will ever appreciate.
Like you, I didn't put those @#$%^ adjustable seat tracks in for my own benefit. She needs the seat all the way foreward.
We started off on some back roads with her behind the wheel, and me coaching. Kinda like teaching your teenager how to drive. Then into some traffic. She was a quick study, and just needs some behind-the-wheel experience. Fortunately, she's driven manual transmission cars before so we didn't start learning how to use a clutch first.
Right now, I'm trying to build a removable clutch pedal extention. She's barely 5'1", and can't comfortably push the clutch pedal down. Once that's done, and she gets a little more driving experience, she wants to drive it to her office and enjoy some of the attention from her peers as I get when I drive it to my office.
Once she starts appreciating the cars' performance and handling characteristics, she won't be such a white knuckled passenger while I'm appreciating the cars performance and handling characteristics. (At DVSFIII, after a couple of 1/8 mile passes, she exclaimed, "This is Awsome!)
We take road trips in the car, and usually split the driving chores. With the Cobra, I have to do all the driving. I like a break, and she's itching to do her share.
And, heh, heh, if driving the Cobra does for her adrenalin and estrogen what it does for your adrenalin and testosterone (it does); there may be side benefits to all this that you hadn't considered once the Cobra is back in the garage.

My wife loves to drive the Cobra. She approached the task gingerly (a VERY good idea!) and slowly built her confidence. Now, she is an adept driver who can handle the big block very well...much to the chagrin of a few macho types who have challenged her. The only obstacle now is her belly, and that will be resolved sometime in November when my new baby boy comes out to play! She also likes to pilot the GT350, including at the SAAC open track events. I guess that makes her a true speed demon! I had a set of keys made for both the cars for our anniversary a few years ago, and wouldn't change a thing. We are discussing building a slabside for her , so she can outfit it the way she wants. As I have a deposit on a new Ford GT, it may have to wait a little while, though!

Keys?
I offered her a set.
Then I took her for a real ride.
Brake torqed it at and let it go about 2800 RPM
(yeah it's an auotomatic) Smoking the tires.
It got just a little sideways, then
snapped back in line and off we went !
That pretty much took care of her wanting to drive it.
After the ride she said "Na that's o.k. keep 'em.
But just you remember that's my seat there.
(pointing to the passenger seat)
Sure honey whatever you say!

Yes, used to drive when ever she wanted, now though she prefers running around in her MINI S--though she will occassionaly take the replica-- why not she owns it also and we have always shared

My wife can't drive a stick and, gee, I just can't seem to find the time to teach her...
Seriously, she doesn't have any desire whatsoever to drive it. The power scares her a bit and Lord knows this isn't the right car for learning to drive a stick!
Come to think of it, I do have an extra set of keys... somewhere... hope I didn't lose 'em...

It was the wife who asked you. Mr. 66 Snake definitely knows how to balance his "hobbies."

Keys for the wife
I love my wife dearly, but when it comes to may car I am very protective so I put my foot down. Then she kicks my butt and takes her out for a spin. Sometimes I wonder if her coconuts are bigger than mine, but then again who needs em' I gotta Cobra, right?

Do I have the keys? you bet!
As you can see from our user name, my husband and I are in this together. We got the car together. I picked out the color, he picked out the engine.
He is in charge of repairs and upgrades, but we BOTH drive.
We learned to drive it together. The drivers seat is adjustable and I think I actually fit the cockpit better that he does as he is 6 foot, 210lbs. Also my feet are smaller so I can work those close pedals better.
I do plan to find a class to improve my driving skills and confidence. For now I just take it easy and keep alert.
I love driving it!!!
When people ask my husband, "Does she drive it", he usually answers "You bet your a** she does", unless I get the chance to say it first!
So go ahead and drive "Neils wife"! You will love it!
And for all the rest of you guys out there, remember there are lots of women who read this site regularly!

I'm pretty sure that the "wifes' set of keys" was never issued with Cobras. Hope this was of some help to your husband.
