Default ...and the Winner is

To my previous topic, Have I stumped the experts is, N559br, (Ben).

You were right, degree marks were visible, under surface rust 180 away from "Hash Mark". Ben to be honest, I did not consider your post seriously. After all I had already emory clothed the balancer and inspected this.. FOUR DAYS AGO!

In fact, I had already installed my timing tape and had covered these up with the excess tailings!

So as I was fighting with my impact wrench, (the one I should have thrown out last summer) I thought what the heck, one more look and VIOLA!

However this has been a valuable learning experience. For example, do you know how difficult it is to remove misinstalled timing tape? This stuff really sticks. And how much snot can drip from your nose, working in a garage in 36 degree temperature?

Thanks to all who posted here, all were great diagnosis worth considering.

Happy Thanksgiving all,
Regards,
Steve

Steve,

Glad to be of service. It had me stumped pretty badly when I was just getting my car going. And don't worry. No one takes me very seriously (with good reason)
