Emergency brake hood up????

I must really be missing something, I hope you guys can fill in the space between my ears with helpful information.

I am trying to install my emergency / parking brake cables.

I have a thunderbird 8.8 IRS. I am using a Lokar emergency brake handle and cable kit.

I see where the cable goes through the lever on the caliper that activates the emergency brake, but it appears to then lock into a small tab on the caliper. When you pull the handle you are pulling the cables, which are not connected to the lever that activates the emergency brake. This lever has to move down or inward towards the caliper and the cable will be pulling in the opposite direction.

I am sure the answer is right in front of me, but I sure missed it. Any help and explaination on how this is to work would be helpful, anyone with any pictures of how this is to be set up would be great.

I must be having a brain laps to be lost on this simple set up.

Thanks Barnsnake,

However your cable looks like it is pulling the lever for the parking brake forward, mine looks like it would have to pull it backwards towards rear of the car. I have a friend who has a Thunderbird, I am hoping to be able to pull one of their wheels and see how the factory set up is done.
