Default 428 headers

All all headers to mate a 428 to the standard cobra 4-tube exhaust side pipes custom made? I assume that the engine set-back, body width and foot box location are different for each of the kits, thus requiring a custon fit.

Keith

Since you own a Superformance you can get the correct header from them. When I converted from SB to BB I got all the required items from them. No guess work just bolt up and go.

Thanks Fred. However, the 428 is not going in my SPF but a Johnspeed that I am finishing for a friend. Good idea tho.

Keith,
I never heard of a Johnspeed. Would you tell us a little about it? Maybe post a picture or two?
Thanks!
Steven

Steve,

Here is the Johnspeed web site:

http://www.johnspeedcobra.co.za/

The Johnspeed is a South African built roller that utilizes the BMW E36 suspension. We have a few completed Johnspeeds here in the Denver area.

Better check which heads your using .Bolt patterns differ on original heads full sized cars and trucks use over and under fairlane and mustang use front and behind each port. Some after market heads have both patterns.Em made a set of headers for my car. They had both patterns but the ears for the outside holes for outside pipes weree missing giving me 14 bolts to clamp each header. Some of the inside bolts ( 4 ) were so close I couldn't get the Stage 8 locks on so I drilled those bolt heads and safety wired them.
