Default Engine builder in/near Los Angeles?

I'm looking for a good shop near LA to take a look at my engine. I just picked up my new-to-me coupe. The previous owner had it dynoed and it made 300 peak rwhp. The way it is built i would expect much more so i would just like to find someone good to take a look at it.

By the way, if you're curious here are the specs on the motor:

351W/300HP at the wheels with brand new pistons, rings, bearings, balanced 9.5:1 Competition roller cam.

Trick Flow heads and valve covers

MSD Pro Billet Distributor and wires

Holley Avenger carburetor

FMS Headers into Flowmaster mufflers.

HP6 remote filter and oil cooler all with braided lines throughout.

March billet pulleys and polished alternator

Dual NASCAR MSD 6al ignition boxes with switching unit.

If you're in the L.A. area I recommend Steve Beck at Checkpoint Automotive (310) 391-9774. Located in Culver City, Steve is the best. Make sure you mention my name.

Good luck

Shin

i called steve @ checkpoint and he says 300whp sounds good. i don't know why but it sounded kind of low to me. i guess i won't worry about it.

A 351W pumping out 300 RWHP through the air cleaner, through the mufflers, with a flat tappet hydraulic cam is nothing to be ashamed of. My 351W with air cleaner off and a CompCams hydraulic roller was putting out 325 RWHP, would like more but am not unhappy with performance.

Put a stroker kit in it, better heads and headers, and a hydraulic roller and your wishes should be fulfilled. This months Muscle Mustang & Fast Fords dynos a variety of 393W motors putting out 525 HP at the flywheel. Check it out.

i don't really need more power right now, i just wanted it to be tuned optimally. The car is wicked fast as is. Maybe eventually i'll try to get it up to about 350hp but this is a road racing/autocross car so any more would be tough to handle.
