Default Hey Brent. Common mistakes thread?

All of us have made mistakes that the rest of us can learn from without reaping them.
What I propose is a thread which lists these mistakes along with a link to existing threads that discuss how to prevent them.
I will kick things off with the old lose knock off issue.

Knock off wheel torque

So many of us are novice mechanics and we just don't know what to look for until it's too late.
Let me know what you think

BTW. I would be happy to moderate the thread if you think it's required

Roger,
That's your first mistake.

Getting 70 psi in your Accusump, then pulling on the over-pressure relief valve to see if it worked.

It worked OK.

Brent could pretty much fill that section up all by himself

Thumbs up

Sounds like a great Idea to me--I need all the help I can get while avoiding unneccesary mistakes

Default Wilfy,,,speaking of pressure relief.....

Building a compressed air storage tank out of hot water heater tank. Got the compressor running and stood around the side of the house (peeking at it every once in awhile) to see if the air pressure relief valve would work.

,,,,,it didn't. When the tank blew it blew a hole in the foundation of house (cement and 2X6 like a tooth pick) and ripped the siding off all the way to the ceiling.

Hey, at least I didn't catch anything on fire, which is WAY more typical of my "average" bone head mistake.

Good idea for a new forum!

One of the first posts could be "Don't post the which is the best Cobra replica" question on ClubCobra unless you have done a search first or don't expect a straight response...
