As far as hand tools, yeah, I agree Snap-On is hard to beat. And, I believe the older Snap-On boxes were excellent also. But, it seems the newest boxes we've ordered(my shop has over 20 Snap-On rollers) have taken a step down in quality. They just aren't as solid as they used to be.
My suggestion would be to try and find an older used Snap-On box, as GOCAT mentioned, or, what I feel is the best quality/price new box, Kennedy.
Also, like your garage, your tool box can never be too big!
